About our school
Alice Miller School is a small and high-performing secondary school situated on 80 acres of bush at the base of Mount Macedon. We educate roughly 250 students in Years 7 to 12. The school is in its 11th year with waiting lists for most year levels. We are the senior campus of Candlebark, based in Romsey. Our founder was John Marsden, the celebrated writer and educator.
Working for us as a maintenance officer
You will be working as part of a small team with the Alice Miller Property Manager. Schools are dynamic places, and no day is the same! 'Standard' tasks include gardening, lawn maintenance, building maintenance, and basic plumbing and electrical.
You may be required, on a regular or ad hoc basis, to drive school buses for the daily commute or camps and excursions.
What we're looking for
You will need to have:
* skills in building, electrical, plumbing, and/or gardening
* a medium rigid licence or be prepared to get one
* the ability to drive a manual vehicle
* a current Working with Children Check or be prepared to apply for one
* a team player mindset: good-natured, collaborative, and reliable
* safety consciousness
