GCLASS Carpenters is looking for an experienced and dedicated Carpenter to join their team.
Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000Duration: 2-3 years
Key Responsibilities
* Review and interpret building plans, drawings, and specifications to confirm material needs, measurements, and work procedures.
* Assist with estimating materials, timeframes, and labour requirements for construction works.
* Choose suitable materials and place orders in time to ensure supplies are available on site when needed and minimise delays.
* Prepare work sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and temporary supports, and remove debris and waste on completion of each task.
* Measure and mark out materials accurately using appropriate measuring tools.
* Use hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments to measure, cut, and shape wood, drywall, plastic, fibreglass, and other building materials.
* Assemble components and erect frameworks, panelised systems, and roof framing.
* Install windows, doors and frames, flooring, staircases, cladding, and other fixtures.
* Repair and maintain existing fittings and structures, ensuring safety and structural integrity.
* Carry out routine inspections to identify defects and maintenance requirements.
* Secure structures using suitable fasteners, fixing methods, and tools.
* Coordinate with other tradespeople and professionals to meet project scope, quality, and timeframes.
* Comply with WHS requirements and building regulations, use PPE, and ensure tools and equipment are maintained and safe to operate.
Eligibility criteria:Must have a certificate III qualification in Carpentry.At least 1 year of experience working as a full time Carpenter.Able to work safely at heightsTeam player with good communication skills.Proficiency in using and handling all types of carpentry tools and machinesHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to work independently and supervise junior carpenters where required.Must have current drivers licence.
