As an industry leading company in Industrial and Commercial Services based in Ingleburn and Seven Hills, we currently have an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and progressive Safety Advisor to provide exceptional end-to-end administration and support of the businesses operations in HSEQ and training requirements across multiple projects and sites. About the role:
This is a very dynamic role that requires a highly energetic, enthusiastic and adaptable safety professional who has the necessary inter personal skills to succeed. The position will be required to manage the training needs and inductions for the operations teams to remain compliant to internal, client and legal requirements, whilst supporting continual improvement of our broader HSE results.
Reporting to the Group HSQ Manager and a dotted reporting line to the Operations Manager this hands-on role gives you the opportunity to influence and implement change, develop the safety culture of the management team and contribute to the overall growth and development of the business.
Responsibilities:
* Plan and coordinate training for staff to meet our statutory obligations and assist with maintaining client / Government online portals for training, induction,
* Plan and co-ordinate client site inductions for various projects, and
* Incident and injury response, reporting, notification and recording, including regular updates,
* Coordinating injury management processes including return to work, medical appointments, light duties coordination and assist with non-work related issues,
* Manage the maintenance of client online portals for training, induction and HSEQ compliance,
* Assist in managing the Beralon procedures, SWMS, risk assessments and work instructions, ensuring they are up to date, trained to and compliance checked,
* Monitor and manage SWMS and rescue plans, ensuring that they are up to date and available
* Maintain compliance registers including working with service providers and team leaders of specialised equipment for their inspections and replacement as required (i.e. BA, rescue equipment, gas testers)
* Supporting the business in maintaining its certification and accreditations, for example the ISO standards and certification audits, and
* Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks and / or meeting with clients as required.
Skills and Experience:
* Formal qualifications and/or relevant experience – Certificate IV in OHS highly regarded.
* Demonstrated experience in similar roles in industrial services, chemical or heavy industrial businesses. Some chemical knowledge would be advantageous.
* Proficient computer skills with experience using Microsoft 365 including Word and Excel
* Strong planning, co-ordination and attention to detail with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, learn concepts and systems quickly.
