Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Clinical Coder/Health Information Manager to join our growing team on a part-time (0.8EFT) ongoing basis.

The Clinical Coder/Health Information Manager is responsible for delivering accurate, comprehensive, and timely clinical coding for all inpatient episodes at LRH. The role supports an efficient Health Information Unit by ensuring high-quality coded data, adherence to national coding standards, and contributing to Activity Based Funding accuracy. This role requires strong technical proficiency, excellent time management, and the ability to work independently.

The role of the Clinical Coder/Health Information Manager is:

* Apply ICD-10-AM coding with a minimum accuracy rate of 80% for code allocation and 90% for DRG assignment.
* Identify documentation deficiencies and produce appropriate clarification queries.
* Adhere to national coding standards and understand Activity Based Funding principles.
* Utilise 3M Codefinder software for accurate code assignment.
* Review personal PICQ errors, audit results, and meet monthly throughput deadlines.

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

* Demonstrates integrity, strong communication skills, and a collaborative working style.
* Adaptable, respectful, and able to work effectively.
* Successfully completed a recognised clinical coding qualification (HIMAA or equivalent) with advanced medical terminology knowledge.
* Minimum three years' experience coding across a broad casemix using ICD-10-AM.
* Highly competent with computer systems, including coding software, data management, and electronic medical records.
* Demonstrates understanding of DRG allocation and its impact on WIES funding.
