Sous Chef - Events
Hamilton Island's dedicated Events team is seeking a Sous Chef to mentor and lead their culinary team. The island hosts a wide range of conferences, weddings, and special events, including Hamilton Island Race Week.

Your Role
As a full-time permanent position, you will live on the island and work a rotating roster. You will be responsible for leading a team in the preparation and presentation of food for a variety of events, including:
* Live BBQ stations
* Street parades
* Cooking lessons and master classes
* Triathlons
* Hamilton Island Race Week
* The Great Barrier Feast
You will work closely with the Executive Chef to achieve consistent high standards of food quality and production. Your role will also involve guiding and mentoring junior chefs to develop their skills and knowledge.
About You
* Successful completion of a Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
* Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
* Open manual Australian driver's license essential
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a Senior Chef de Partie or Sous Chef position
* Previous experience in upmarket and off-site catering, and/or luxury hotel banqueting
* Demonstrated experience managing busy kitchens and leading teams
* Impeccable grooming and personal presentation
