Grindal Legal is a law firm in Maroochydore (QLD) and Melbourne (VIC) providing strategic advice and innovative solutions in Property Law, Conveyancing, Mortgage Lending and Estate Planning. We are a welcoming and productive team that takes pride in our work and our clients' success. The firm is rapidly growing and looking for another member to join the team in the Maroochydore office.

The opportunity

This role can be either part time (3 or 4 days) or full time depending on the candidate's availability. This role is suited for an experienced conveyancer or a paralegal with experience in conveyancing or property law.

In a busy and diverse role reporting to the Practice Leader and Principal, your responsibilities will include:

Technical ability (Queensland Jurisdictions)

* Running commercial, residential and off-the-plan conveyancing files from inception to completion with minimal supervision.
* Calculating and preparing a Statement of Adjustments.
* Performing settlements on the Property Exchange Australia (PEXA) platform.
* Liaising with clients, banks and when required the Titles office and Queensland Revenue Office (QRO).
* Assist with a range of Wills & Estate Planning matters in the areas of Wills, Probate, Power of Attorney and succession planning in trusts and superannuation.
* Research and interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses.
* Review and interpret legal documents.
* Conduct research on relevant points of law; provide summaries of findings to legal staff.
* Understand and employ the technical knowledge required to achieve responsibilities.

Document preparation and production

* At the direction of a solicitor, prepare legal documents and correspondence including but not limited to engagement letters, cost agreements, contracts of sale, powers of attorney, binding death benefit nominations, loan documents, leases and disclosure statements.
* Prepare forms and attend to data entry across internal platforms and various external platforms including but not limited to PEXA, Queensland Revenue Office (QRO), and Redcrest (VIC).
* Obtain and prepare evidentiary documentation to support applications.
* Perform general administrative duties including but not limited to filing, binding, scanning and photocopying.

Client relations

* Assist with provision of quality legal services to clients.
* Develop and maintain client relationships where appropriate.
* Identify and analyse situations and problems so that viable solutions for the client are found.
* Approach tasks and problems so that the needs of client can be achieved.
* Assist with offering advice.
* Attend client meetings to assist legal staff and understand the needs of the client.

Client matters/file maintenance

* Attend to various aspects of client files as directed.
* Create client matters and ensure all documents, letters, file notes, and billing records are filed correctly and in a timely manner.
* Manage deeds held in safe custody.
* Complete property and company searches.
