An exciting opportunity has opened in our Byron Bay office for a Payroll Officer to join our dynamic, fun, and supportive Finance & Payroll team.
About the Role
As our Payroll Officer, you'll play a vital role in supporting a broad range of clients across multiple industries - from our Local Government partners through to some key commercial entities. You'll manage payroll processing across various awards and enterprise agreements, handle payroll-related enquiries, and provide expert advice with accuracy and care.
Every day is different - the payroll function in our business is fast-moving and continually evolving. You'll enjoy the variety and challenges that come with managing multiple payrolls, while ensuring timely and compliant processing.
Key Responsibilities:
* End-to-end payroll processing for a range of clients and pay companies
* Interpreting awards and ensuring compliance
* Responding to payroll queries with a customer-first mindset
* Providing accurate reporting and record-keeping
* Supporting the payroll team with general administration and payroll-related tasks

You thrive in a busy, ever-changing environment and are confident juggling multiple tasks and deadlines, supporting our valued customers and clients.
Your attention to detail and time management skills ensure nothing slips through the cracks.
You will also have:
* Previous experience in a payroll, finance support role would be well-regarded, however, if you're a tech savvy customer service rep looking for a change - we'd love to hear from you too
* Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards, and EAs (desirable)
* Great communication and interpersonal skills
* Solid computer skills, particularly with payroll software and Excel and the ability to pick up systems quickly
* A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to learn
