About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and people‐focused Assessing Manager to play a critical role in driving assessment performance, cost efficiency, and estimator capability across the business. This role is key to achieving assessment lifecycle targets while maintaining strong job margins. You will be viewed as a leader and role model, working closely with the team to improve assessment workflows, identify efficiencies, and uplift capability across the assessment function.
Responsibilities
* Drive assessment lifecycle performance, including effective use of desktop estimators and supporting timely bookings.
* Support cost control and margin outcomes through accurate scoping, training, and improved estimating practices.
* Manage internal quote reviews and revision processes, upskilling both desktop and onsite estimators.
* Assist with price list management to ensure accuracy and consistency.
* Train and develop new and existing estimators in scoping and report writing.
* Stay across insurer reporting and quoting requirements to ensure compliance.
* Lead, coach, and develop your team through regular feedback, team meetings, and ongoing mentoring.
About You
Proven experience insurance building assessing and estimating.
Experience in managing a team in the insurance building sector.
Strong leadership and people development skills.
Sound understanding of assessment workflows, costing, and insurer requirements.
Organised, proactive, and improvement-focused.
