Gunida Gunyah Aboriginal Corporation (GGAC) is seeking a compassionate and experienced Refuge Manager to lead Lilly Pilly Place, our Women's and Children's Refuge in Gunnedah, NSW. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a vital 24-hour service providing emergency accommodation and case management for women and children experiencing Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV).


About Lilly Pilly Place


Lilly Pilly Place provides safe, secure, and culturally safe crisis accommodation for women and children escaping violence. Our services are grounded in a person-centred, trauma-informed approach, ensuring each client receives high-quality care, risk assessment, safety planning, and tailored support.


The Role


Reporting to the CEO, the Refuge Manager will:

* Lead and supervise a dedicated team of DFV Specialists and Support Workers.
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the refuge, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
* Manage budgets, client brokerage, rosters, and resources.
* Ensure properties are maintained and ready for occupancy within 24 hours of vacancy.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including NSW Police, legal services, health providers, and community organisations.
* Ensure compliance with all legislative, funding, and accreditation requirements, including ASES and child-safe standards.
* Participate in the on-call roster and provide after-hours leadership support.
* Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm, with some flexibility to suit the successful manager.


About You


We are looking for a strong, empathetic leader who can balance operational management with genuine care for staff and clients. You will have:

* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social and Community Services, Psychology, or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience in leadership or management within the DFV, crisis accommodation, or related sectors.
* Extensive knowledge of domestic and family violence, trauma-informed care, risk assessment, and crisis intervention.
* Strong financial management and administrative skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
* A current NSW Working with Children Check, Police Check, driver's license, and First Aid certificate.
