Gigged Out is a grassroots initiative showcasing the underground electronic music scene in Sydney/Eora.Our platform helps people experience Sydney's most exciting electronic music events, venues and artists.
We’re now entering an exciting phase of growth where we’ll build and improve features in a fast paced and iterative environment. To lead this next chapter, we’re looking for a Head of Design to join us as a founding team member and define the visual and experiential identity of Gigged Out.
The Role
As our Head of Design, you’ll take ownership of everything design-related across the brand, from digital products to visual identity. You’ll define how Gigged Out looks, feels, and communicates across web, mobile, and media.
You’ll be responsible for shaping the product’s UI and UX, refining our brand system (colours, fonts, shapes, motion, layout), and ensuring everything from our ads to app screens feels on brand and cohesive.
You don’t have to do every design task yourself, but you’ll be the creative decision-maker, steering how the brand evolves as we grow quick.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and evolve Gigged Out’s visual identity and design language
- Oversee all UI/UX design for our web and mobile apps
- Supervise and sign off marketing assets, including ads, banners, and landing pages
- Build a design system that scales as we expand across features, music genres and cities
- Collaborate with founders to shape product experience and creative strategy
- Continuously refine existing visual components and introduce new ones as we grow
You Are
- A UI/UX designer with a sharp eye for visual design and user experience
- Experienced in using Figma and other modern design tools
- Passionate about music, culture, and creativity
- Experienced in building or leading brand systems for digital products
- Comfortable in early-stage startup environments — agile, iterative, and visionary
- Excited to join as a founder and define the aesthetic direction of a growing platform
The Offer
This is a founder role with equity, not a salaried position (yet). It’s ideal for someone who currently has a full‑time job but wants to build something meaningful on the side with a passionate team in the music‑tech space.
You’ll have creative freedom, real ownership, and the chance to design a platform that celebrates the underground music culture and brings it to the world.
