About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Commercial Manager to join our team based in our Sydney office to work on large scale renewable energy projects. Reporting to the Project Director, this position is responsible for ensuring all commercial aspects of the project's operations are effectively managed and controlled, and that the commercial strategy is developed and delivered.
* Ensure that the correct commercial processes are in place and that they are correctly followed and implemented.
* Review all commercial plans to deliver maximum margin.
* Provide contractual advice during the tendering process.
* Identify improvements to commercial procedures.
* Manage the monthly commercial audit process.
* Continually support and grow good commercial and contractual acumen within the project teams.
About You
To be successful in this position you will bring your extensive experience (7+ years) as a Commercial Manager working within an electrical, renewable energy or heavy industrial construction environment along with your tertiary qualifications in commerce, law, accounting, or related field and a high-level understanding of contract administration principles and commercial acumen.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple work packages and interface with internal and external customers.
* Strong influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate with clients, subcontractors and other professionals to manage project costs and contractual matters.
* The ability to multitask, prioritise your own workload and work unsupervised.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills in order to meet deadlines.
* High level of attention to detail.
* The ability to read and interpret contract documents and technical specifications.
