The Role
Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School is seeking experienced and committed Canteen Assistants to join the School Canteen based at the Keilor East campus in casual positions. Responsibilities include assisting with the production, preparation, service and sale of food and beverages, and canteen cleaning duties.
We currently have casual positions available, working hours between 8am to 2pm on weekdays, during term times only, when students are in attendance.
The successful candidate will have a strong focus on customer service, experience in food services and preparation (sandwich making experience preferred), cash handling skills, and a certificate in food safety handling and first aid, or willingness to complete training prior to commencement. Ability to work additional hours as required would be advantageous.
Applicants are also required to:
* demonstrate their commitment to student safety, care, and wellbeing, including a commitment to child safety and understanding appropriate behaviors when engaging with children from diverse backgrounds and needs
* hold permanent Australian residency or a valid work visa
* hold a valid and current Working With Children Check and be eligible to work in Australia
