About the role
We're looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Desktop Estimator on a permanent full-time basis. With no onsite work or travel required, this office-based role is ideal for an experienced tradesperson who is ready to move offsite. Your day will consist of completing between 4 to 8 assessment reports and quotes, depending on their size and complexity.
While previous experience in estimating and/or a trade background is highly beneficial, we are open to junior candidates with a keen interest in estimating and insurance repair building, and a willingness to learn.
Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
* Collaborating with onsite personnel who will provide the required information such as, measurements, photographs, and videos to undertake accurate assessment and quotes virtually.
* Accurately determining the cause of damage and complete a cost-effective quote to repair accompanied by a detailed report outlining damages.
* Building professional relationships with clients and their representatives.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has:
* A trade qualification in Carpentry or a building background is advantageous, but not essential.
* Experience in insurance or remedial building, with experience in conducting investigations diagnosing and reporting on building damage, faults, maintenance, and repairs will be highly regarded.
* Experience and understanding in Restoration Work is also highly regarded.
* Strong planning and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
* Ability to meet deadlines and stay focused under pressure.
* Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to resolve conflict.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
