About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Strategic Commercial Specialist to join our team. This role requires strong relationships with project teams, technical expertise and strategic thinking to navigate complex commercial matters.
The successful candidate will focus on our infrastructure projects in South Australia but will have opportunities to contribute to various Defence and Social Infrastructure contracts across Australia.
This is a full-time position on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Some interstate travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Commercial Expertise & Risk Management: Provide expert advice across projects, ensuring strategic solutions for contractual risks and entitlements.
* Contracts & Claims Advisory: Offer subject matter expertise on claims, disputes, variations, contract extensions and compliance to protect business interests.
* Strategic Collaboration: Partner with procurement, subcontract and legal teams to optimise contracting arrangements, reviews and compliance processes.
* Contract Drafting & Management: Prepare, review and negotiate contract terms, notices, extensions and leveraged works, ensuring accuracy and risk mitigation.
* Financial Modelling & Decision Support: Interpret financial data, build models and provide insights that guide commercial decision-making.
Requirements:
* A degree in Business, Commerce or Law (preferred).
* Strong knowledge of service contracts and contract law with hands-on commercial management experience.
* Data-driven decision-making to optimise value and mitigate risks.
* Proven experience in client engagement, negotiation and relationship management.
* Skilled in stakeholder engagement with clear and persuasive written and verbal communication.
