Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action VIC – Melbourne VIC

The Victorian Environmental Water Holder (VEWH) is seeking a dynamic Partnerships and Communication Officer to help communicate the vital work of improving Victoria's rivers, wetlands and floodplains.

In this role, you will:

* Support stakeholder engagement and partnerships
* Coordinate projects and events
* Provide executive support and assist with issues management

We're looking for someone with strong communication skills, stakeholder management experience, and a collaborative approach. A background in communications, journalism, public relations, or natural resource management is highly desirable.

The Victorian Environmental Water Holder (VEWH) is an independent statutory body responsible for managing Victoria's environmental water entitlements, in cooperation with program partners, to improve the environmental health of rivers and wetlands.


Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

* A relevant tertiary qualification or an equivalent accreditation is highly desirable in communication/journalism or working/industry experience in a relevant field (i.e. communication, journalism, public relations/affairs, stakeholder engagement, natural resource management, water).
* Understanding of water entitlements, environmental flows and ecology in Victoria would be advantageous.


Position Details

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 12 months. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
