* Clerk Grade 5/6, base salary ($99,938 - $110,271), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

The Stronger Communities Legislation Amendment (Domestic Violence) Act 2020 introduced new protections to ensure domestic violence complainants are not directly questioned by an unrepresented accused. Under section 289VA of the Criminal Procedure Act 1986, unrepresented accused persons are prohibited from personally cross‐examining the complainant. Instead, a Court Appointed Questioner (CAQ) asks the questions on their behalf.

The role leverages sound courts business knowledge in providing essential administrative support, ensuring the efficient delivery of Court Appointed Questioner services across state-wide court matters. The position encompasses direct involvement in fulfilling the responsibilities of the Court Appointed Questioner role.

What you'll do

The purpose of this role is to provide a broad range of administrative support services to the Office of the Executive Director and Court Appointed Questioner and Mediation Administration team.

You will also ....

* Provide high‐quality administrative, financial and record‐keeping support, ensuring compliance with processes, delegations and deadlines.
* Manage complex enquiries and issues, delivering accurate information and timely resolution.
* Support project, training and operational improvements, including contributions to CAQMA training materials and executive team projects.
* Use technology and data effectively to gather, collate and manage information, and support mediation allocations and related processes.
* Perform the role of Court Appointed Questioner (CAQ) in line with legislation, policies and practices, including attending courts across NSW in person.

* Administrative Systems and Data Management - Manage records and databases, complying with administrative systems, processes, and policies, to ensure that all information is accurate, stored correctly and accessible.

* A current and valid NSW Drivers Licence with the willingness and ability to travel, which may include travel to remote locations of NSW as well as overnight stays.

Appointments are subject to reference checks. Some roles may also require the following checks/ clearances:

* National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
* Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
