About the role
As a Disability Support Worker at People Care Services, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals living with disabilities to lead fulfilling and independent lives. This casual/permanent part-time position is based in Hervey Bay, QLD, and offers flexibility to balance your work and personal commitments.
Candidates must be available to work across 24/7 shift patterns including weekdays, weekends, and evenings as required.
What you'll be doing
* Providing personalised support and assistance to individuals with a range of disabilities, enabling them to participate in daily activities and achieve their goals
* Assisting with personal care, including grooming, dressing, and meal preparation
* Facilitating community engagement and recreational activities to promote social inclusion
* Maintaining detailed records and documentation to ensure the highest quality of care
* Collaborating with the broader care team to develop and implement individualised support plans
* Advocating for the rights and needs of your clients
What we're looking for
* A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to enhancing their quality of life
* Previous experience in disability support, aged care, or healthcare preferred but not essential for enthusiastic candidates
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with your clients
* A caring, patient, and empathetic nature, with the ability to adapt your approach to meet the unique needs of each individual
* A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
* Completion of a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification is highly regarded
* Must possess a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check at the time of application
* Must hold current First Aid and CPR certification at the time of application
* Valid National Police Check (no older than 6 months)
* Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa
* All four NDIS modules (Worker Orientation Module, New Worker Induction Module, Supporting Safe & Effective Communication Module, and Supporting Safe & Enjoyable Meals Module) must be completed prior to application
