We are looking for a high‑performing, ambitious Field Service Engineer with the hunger to succeed. CUTERA ANZ is a fast‑paced dynamic team that thrives on achieving results in a supportive team environment. Your role will be pivotal in the testing, installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and support of CUTERA ANZ's full product portfolio, including sophisticated laser and optical delivery systems and RF devices.
Regional Overview and Travel Requirements
* Must reside in Brisbane or Gold Coast (QLD)
* Region covers but is not limited to QLD
* Travel: approximately 80% of the time, including overnights
* Reports to: Regional Field Service Manager
Position Summary
In this role you will support our diverse range of customers by establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with external and internal customers to manage expectations and contribute to their success. This includes all aspects of customer support, excellent communication, repair work execution, service reporting and initiatives to ensure our customers are well supported. The individual will contribute to the support of our customers by servicing existing and new medical technologies/applications located at key opinion leaders, dermatologists, plastic surgeons and other practitioners throughout the territory.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide outstanding professional, courteous, prompt and skilled technical service to Cutera customers.
* Ensure operational quality of the system and instruct customers on operation and maintenance.
* Document all service activities in compliance with FDA requirements.
* Develop resolutions to critical troubleshooting problems; resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
* Use people and technical skills to make customer interactions positive, pleasant and memorable.
* Work closely with Area Sales Manager and direct Manager to identify customers for upgrades, new purchases, contracts, and additional customer training.
* Identify error codes, recurring problems, or odd troubleshooting solutions to direct Manager and R&D to solve problems and manage department material expenses and company costs.
* Maintain ability to flash update software and firmware.
* Provide timely and accurate reporting of RMAs, work orders, performance data, device logs, van stock and expense reports.
* Perform other duties as needed or required.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification in laser technology (preferred).
* Engineering or Trade Qualifications in Industrial Electronics, Laser Technology, or a similar field.
* Experience working with high voltage DC circuits and precision optical & mechanical alignments.
* Minimum of 3+ years of experience in electronic system troubleshooting; laser experience preferred.
* Minimum of 2+ years of experience in the installation and ongoing maintenance of electronic and electromechanical machinery.
* Knowledge of optics, electronics, and mechanical principles, and ability to troubleshoot assemblies down to component level.
* Must reside in Sydney, NSW and have the ability to travel on short notice if required.
* Be able to travel both interstate and internationally to support customers and attend training/meetings as required.
* Expert customer service skills, positive attitude, and clear, tactful communication.
* Must be able to lift 20 kg.
* Excellent written and verbal communication plus organisational skills.
* Medical device experience highly regarded.
* Experience with Salesforce.com or similar system highly regarded.
