Who you are? We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Onsite Laboratory Managers to join our Onsite Laboratory team at Bureau Veritas. This role is crucial for in the operation of our Onsite Laboratories, ensuring both short term and long term objectives are met. These roles would be permanent but could see you doing relief over our numerous onsite laboratories. What you are responsible for, but not limited to: · Safe day to day operation of the onsite laboratory. · Mandatory compliance with Onsite, Bureau Veritas and regulatory Government Occupational Health and Safety requirements. · Ensure efficient running of Fusion/XRF/Reporting Facility providing: o full compliance to OHS&E requirements, o Provision of quality data and turnaround of assays within client’s specified requirements · Staff Management and Training. · Perform analytical tasks including operation of instrumentation and QAQC. · Troubleshooting. · Customer Service – Liaise with the client and addressing all queries. · Responsible for the control and disposal of hazardous substances. · Manage maintenance requirements of instruments and equipment. · Manage stock levels and consumables. What’s needed To be successful in this position you will have: · Science degree in chemistry or a related field. · 3 years of minerals laboratory experience is essential · Experience in managing staff in the daily operation of a laboratory environment · 3 years of experience in XRF analysis and equipment calibration and maintenance is preferred · Strong technical knowledge of XRF principles and applications. · Supervisory experience · Onsite mine experience is advantageous · Effective communication and interpersonal skills. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
