Rural Health Group is currently seeking a Director to join our Board - committed and capable leaders who are passionate about strengthening primary healthcare in rural and remote communities.

Rural Health Group is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering rural communities by delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare that meets their unique needs. With over 25 years of experience, we envision thriving rural communities with healthcare systems as effective as those in urban areas. Rural Health Group manages 13 General Practices and Mental Health Services throughout Queensland. With a commitment to innovation, collaboration, and excellence, we strive to deliver high-quality, accessible primary healthcare to create healthy rural communities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Board Director, you will play a vital role in guiding the strategic direction, governance and sustainability of our organisation.

Directors are expected to:

* Attend monthly Board meetings
* Participate in up to two face-to-face weekend long meetings annually
* Actively contribute to relevant Board subcommittees

This is a remunerated Board position. Remuneration will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong experience in organisational governance, leadership, or senior decision-making role. Completion of the AICD Company Directors Course (or equivalent) or prior Board experience will be highly regarded.

The Board is particularly seeking to strengthen its capability in Finance, Audit and Risk Management (FARM). Candidates with significant experience in finance, accounting, audit, or financial governance, and the capability to chair and support the FARM subcommittee, are strongly encouraged to apply.

We also welcome candidates from a diverse range of professional backgrounds including healthcare, legal, human resources or business leadership. Candidates with a background as a practising or former doctor, and those with experience in primary healthcare or general practice management, will also be particularly valued given the nature of our services.

An understanding of the challenges faced by rural and remote communities will be considered advantageous.

Residency in Queensland is preferred, though not essential for the right candidate.

* Information Technology
* Experience working within not-for-profit sectors
* Current National Police Check
* Hold a valid Director Identification Number (Director ID)
* Meet eligibility requirements under ACNC and ASIC
