Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Haematology Advanced Trainee to join our growing team on a full time (1.0EFT) fixed term basis.
The Haematology Advanced Trainee is a senior registrar training position within the Division of Cancer Services at LRH. As part of a large multidisciplinary clinical, research and academic team, the role provides specialist haematology services to patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. Working under supervision of senior medical staff, the Advanced Trainee delivers high-quality, person-centred care while developing clinical skills consistent with RACP Advanced Training requirements. The position contributes to multidisciplinary team, education of junior medical staff and medical students, and supports the delivery of safe, effective cancer and haematology services within a regional health setting.

The role of the Haematology Advanced Trainee is to:
* Provide day-to-day specialist haematology care to patients at a level commensurate with advanced training, under supervision of senior medical staff.
* Conduct outpatient clinics with responsibility for assessment, management planning and longitudinal follow-up of allocated patients.
* Deliver specialist haematology services including bone marrow biopsy procedures and coordination of transfusion management.
* Coordinate patient care within the Division of Cancer Services through effective collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
* Ensure timely, clear and accurate clinical documentation, including effective handover and prompt escalation of clinical concerns to consultants when required.
* Participate in supervision and teaching of junior medical staff and medical students, and contribute to the on-call roster in accordance with safe working hour provisions.

About you Ideal candidates for this role will have:
* A Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (or equivalent) with eligibility for unconditional registration with AHPRA.
* Current registration with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) as an Advanced Trainee.
* Clinical competence appropriate to senior registrar level, with the ability to manage complex haematology patients under supervision.
* A commitment to high-quality, person-centred care, ongoing professional development, education and quality improvement.
* Adaptability, empathy and respect when working with patients, families, colleagues and broader health services.
* A strong interest in pursuing a long-term career in Medical Oncology or Haematology in a regional setting (desirable).
