Geriatrician Opportunity

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team working in the Ipswich Hospital, supporting patients with complex needs and contributing to the development of innovative services.
This role offers the chance to work closely with colleagues from various disciplines, sharing knowledge and expertise to deliver high-quality patient care.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Geriatrician who can lead daily consult-led board rounds, work on the Emergency Department FIT team, and support REACT services.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will participate in the GLINT clinic, moving falls assessments into local teams, and possibly join the general medicine on-call rota.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead ward rounds on the virtual ward supported by a Staff Grade doctor or SpR
* Work on the Emergency Department FIT team
* Support REACT services and liaise with other teams
* Manage hot phone queries and coordinate direct transfers from ED
* Participate in the GLINT clinic
Person Specification:
Essential:
* Registration on the GMC Specialist Register for Geriatrics
* MRCP or equivalent
* Experience in multidisciplinary teamwork
* Ability to organise and prioritise complex demands
* Expert clinical opinion in acute medical emergencies, rehabilitation, and intermediate care
* Teaching and training skills for junior doctors
* Ability to manage risk and end-of-line decisions
Desirable:
* Training in appraisal techniques
* Postgraduate diploma or higher degree
* Knowledge of national agendas affecting the NHS
* Evidence of driving change through audit work

We offer a competitive salary range of £109,725 to £145,478 per annum and flexible working arrangements to suit your needs.
