We are seeking a highly driven BMS Project Manager / Project Engineer to deliver best in class automation, controls and energy‑efficiency solutions across all major sectors construction and refurbishment projects.
This is a key delivery role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, can manage multiple stakeholders, and enjoys turning complex building requirements into smart, high‑performing automation outcomes.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of BMS projects, including engineering, programming, commissioning and client handover.
Typical duties include:
* Managing BMS projects from concept to completion
* Coordinating with builders, mechanical contractors, consultants and electrical trades
* Developing BMS design documentation, control strategies and schematics
* Engineering, programming and integrating field devices, HVAC equipment and third‑party systems
* Overseeing onsite installation, testing and commissioning
* Managing timelines, budgets and variations
* Ensuring compliance with Australian standards and client specifications
* Providing technical support, troubleshooting and client training
* Maintaining strong relationships with customers and project partners
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
* 3–5+ years' experience in BMS, HVAC controls or building automation
* Knowledge of open‑protocol systems (BACnet, Modbus, KNX, LON or similar)
* Experience with major BMS platforms (Schneider EcoStruxure, Tridium/Niagara and Optergy is a plus)
* Strong engineering, diagnosis and problem‑solving skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management ability
* Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and control schematics
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
* A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
* Highly regarded: Electrical trade qualification, engineering degree or equivalent
* Experience with multi‑vendor environments
* Understanding of energy‑management, NABERS, Greenstar and sustainability outcomes
