Get First Aid (GFA) is a leading provider of professional event medical services across Australia.
As part of our Canberra-focused 2026 intake, we are seeking qualified Event Medics, Registered Paramedics, and Emergency Nurses to join our local casual workforce.
This role suits clinicians looking for flexible, event-based work across major ACT festivals, sporting events, and government-supported activations.

About the roles
You will deliver safe, professional, and patient-centred medical care in pre-hospital and event environments, operating within GFA clinical governance frameworks and documentation standards.
Positions are casual and event-based, with work primarily on weekends and during peak event periods.
Role requirements:
Event Medics
Applicants must meet one of the following:
* Currently studying a Bachelor of Paramedicine (or equivalent), or
* Completed a Certificate IV in Health Care, or
* Completed a Diploma of Emergency Health Care
Applicants completing their final placement / final hours of a Diploma are encouraged to apply.
First Aid qualifications are not required at application stage.
GFA provides in-house training; however, applicants must be willing and able to obtain:
* Advanced First Aid
* Advanced Resuscitation
* Spinal Management
* Provide Pain Management
Registered Paramedics
* Current AHPRA registration
* Minimum 12 months on-road experience with a State Ambulance Service
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in pre-hospital environments
Registered Nurses
* Current nursing registration
* Minimum 2 years Emergency Department experience
* Confidence working in dynamic, non-hospital settings
Mandatory for all roles
* National Police Check issued within the last 12 months
* Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card – ACT
* Availability for weekend and event-based work
* Strong communication, professionalism, and documentation skills
Desirable (highly regarded)
* Willingness to travel within the ACT and surrounding regions
* Access to a reliable, roadworthy vehicle
