Job Title: Food Safety Specialist
This role is focused on maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in our kitchen, supplies, and equipment.
The ideal candidate will have effective communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work without active supervision. They will also be able to demonstrate knowledge of computer applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of meals for patients, residents, staff, external clients, committee meetings, and other functions.
* Maintenance of kitchen, supplies, and equipment to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
Requirements:
* Effective communication and organisational skills are necessary for success in this role.
* Appropriate training in cooking is required, either by experience, apprenticeship, or commercial cooking programs.
* The ability to communicate effectively with other staff, patients, residents/consumers, management, external stakeholders, and community is essential.
* Demonstrating the ability to work without active supervision is also required.
* Demonstrating knowledge of computer applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is necessary.
Desirable Requirements:
* Previous experience working in Hospitality/Health Industry would be beneficial.
* Knowledge of Food Act 1984 and Victorian Food Safety Standards is also desirable.
* Training in the principles of food safety and infection control is advantageous.
* Food Safety Supervisory Certification in Health or willingness to obtain it is required.
* A qualified Chef or Certificate III in Commercial Cookery in an equivalent field is preferred.
* Demonstrating knowledge to supervise staff is necessary.
