Makinex Renewables is a pioneering force in the renewable energy sector, specializing in the design, manufacturing, and deployment of innovative Hybrid Power Systems as well as a range of renewable power generation solutions. With a strong foothold in the hire and rental industry, particularly within the infrastructure space, we are poised for expansion into new market segments. 
ABOUT THE ROLE 
We are seeking a dynamic sales professional to drive business growth and cultivate strong partnerships in the renewable energy sector. 
In this high-impact role, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, promoting cutting-edge Hybrid Power Systems and sustainable solutions that reduce diesel use, lower CO2 emissions, and deliver real ROI for our clients. 
The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving our expansion, leveraging expertise in the renewable energy sector and a proven ability to identify new business opportunities. 
You will spend the majority of your time on the road, with the flexibility to work from your home office as needed. 
To support you in your role, we will provide all necessary tools, including a company phone and laptop, along with a car allowance to facilitate your travel. 
Responsibilities 
Executing sales strategies to manage key accounts and identify new market opportunities 
Securing high-value deals by engaging decision-makers across large organisations 
Building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders, blending a hunter mindset with structured sales execution 
Presenting compelling business cases demonstrating technical, financial, and ESG-driven value 
Tailoring solutions to client-specific applications—site sheds, EV charging, cranes, lighting, and more 
Leading contract negotiations, collaborating with internal teams to ensure successful delivery and customer satisfaction 
Utilising your market knowledge and network to identify potential clients and partners 
Maintaining CRM records and sales pipelines using HubSpot 
Representing Makinex at trade shows and industry events 
Continuously self-educate on new products, pricing, and market trends 
ABOUT YOU 
This position requires a strategic thinker who can build and maintain strong partnerships while demonstrating the value of our deployable Hybrid Power Systems and sustainable solutions. 
To be considered for this role, you must possess: 
Proven success in business development within the renewable energy sector, ideally with experience in market expansion or greenfield opportunities 
Deep understanding of energy systems and customer requirements across sectors like construction, mining, and infrastructure 
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate technical features into customer value 
Exceptional communication, presentation and negotiation skills 
Knowledge of power load requirements and energy needs for temporary and hybrid systems 
Tech-savvy, with proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and digital collaboration platforms 
A self-driven, autonomous approach—able to manage your pipeline, schedule, and results independently 
Willingness to travel to meet clients and attend events 
Professional, well-organised, and capable of multitasking under pressure 
Experience selling power solutions into construction, mining, civil or hire sectors is desirable
