The Program Assistant is a key role for delivering client centred services, providing quality, flexible centre-based and community-based day activities for our community. Our Pakenham and Cowes Community Centres are looking for somebody who has experience and loves working with people with disabilities and ageing individuals from diverse backgrounds. Our Program Assistants ensure a healthy and safe environment for all our clients in all our community centre.
Key skills and qualifications you bring:
* Excellent problem-solving abilities
* Creative innovative approach to program delivery
* Highly developed communication skills for working with a broad range of clients
* An understanding or desire to learn the principles of person-centred planning and experience in transforming plans into actions
* Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously
* Ability to show initiative
* Current First Aid & CPR, NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Full Victorian Driver’s License and the ability, confidence or willingness to learn driving a 10-seater bus.
* Available to work at both Pakenham and Cowes Community Centres
Desirable:
* Experience in working within older adults in a community-based setting
* Aged care qualification
* Experience and understanding of working with groups/facilitating programs
