Gadtech Pty Ltd is seeking reliable and safety-focused Heavy Rigid (HR) and Heavy Combination (HC)/Multi Combination Truck Drivers to support our ready-mix concrete and quarrying operations. These roles require a high level of technical skill in manoeuvring trucks across Tasmania's unique terrain, ensuring strict compliance with Gadtech policy, procedures and ANZSCO standards and safety regulations.
Agitator Truck Driver (HR)
Quarrying Truck Driver (HR)
Tanker Trucker Driver (HC/MC)
Manoeuvre Heavy-Rigid (HR) trucks into tight, unstable, or complex construction sites:
* Expertly manage engine power and gear selection to handle Tasmania's steep regional inclines/declines while fully loaded, minimising wear on braking systems.
* Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to optimise fuel usage (Agitator Drivers - ensure concrete remains within its viable window for discharge).
Operate specialized technical loading and discharge vehicles:
* Safely transport and unload production materials following specialized technical loading and discharge policies and procedures in accordance with the Quality Assurance and compliance (ANZSCO Core) framework.
* Monitor and adjust the agitator drum's rotation speed during transit to prevent concrete segregation or premature setting (Agitator Drivers only).
* Monitor \"slump\" (consistency) on-site; add water or admixtures in strict accordance with batching plant technical specifications (Agitator Drivers only).
* Operate truck-mounted hydraulic chutes and tipping devices to deliver concrete precisely into pumps, formwork, or wheelbarrows as directed by the site foreman (Agitator Drivers only).
Ensure Quality Assurance and compliance (ANZSCO Core):
* Review delivery dockets and batching certificates to ensure the correct concrete grade (strength/density) matches the customer's order.
* Obtain authorized signatures for delivery acceptance and record any on-site product modifications (e.g., added water) for liability and quality tracking.
* Estimate payload weights (wet concrete vs. dry aggregates) to ensure the vehicle remains within legal Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) and axle-load limits.
Ensure safety, maintenance and hygiene:
* Conduct daily inspections of brakes, tires, and hydraulics. Document all findings in the service register and report defects immediately.
* Ensure all loads are securely stowed and covered to prevent material loss and road hazards.
* Execute essential post-delivery wash-down procedures of the drum and chutes to prevent hardened concrete build-up, preserving vehicle capacity and safety (Agitator Drivers only).
