About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Support Worker. In this role, you will play a vital part in empowering people with disabilities to live independently and become more engaged in their communities.
As a Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to provide assistance with daily tasks, including transportation, cleaning, cooking, mealtime management, behaviour support, personal care, and companionship. You will also be responsible for supporting clients to access community-based activities and appointments.
In some instances, you may be required to perform cleaning, light gardening, and housekeeping duties without direct client contact.
* Support individuals with disabilities in home and community settings
* Maintain high levels of hygiene
* Clean, garden, and undertake general housekeeping duties
* Document thoroughly
* Assist with medication administration
* Manage mealtime routines
* Provide behaviour support
* Offer hands-on training and development of life skills to achieve quality outcomes
* Build effective working relationships with staff, clients, families, and carers
* Transport participants to activities and appointments as required
Essential/Desirable Pre-Requisites
* Certificate III in Individual Support - Disability (or willingness to obtain within 12 months)
* Current NDIS Worker Clearance
* Current National Police Clearance (less than 3 months old)
* Current Provide First Aid Certificate
* Current full unrestricted South Australian Driver's License
* Medication Training
* Supporting people at mealtimes training
* Restrictive practices and behaviour support knowledge and training
