This role supports planning, coordination and technical leadership across the design lifecycle, covering overhead lines, underground cables, structures, civil interfaces and protection and control systems. It requires collaboration with engineering, construction and client teams to ensure safe, compliant and constructible outcomes.**About the Opportunity:**The Design Manager – Transmission leads the development of transmission line and substation designs. You coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, ensure technical consistency, manage interfaces and provide guidance from early planning through delivery. You evaluate risks, drive innovation and align design solutions with project objectives.**Key Accountabilities:*** Lead planning, coordination and delivery of HV/MV transmission designs* Ensure designs are safe, compliant, cost‐effective and constructible* Manage interfaces across civil, electrical, protection and controls* Mentor engineering teams and uplift capability* Apply Australian standards and govern technical quality* Identify design risks and propose technical solutions* Champion innovation and continuous improvement* Support stakeholder engagement, proposals and business development**Required Skills and Competencies*** Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering* Chartered Status (including RPEV, RPEQ, NER & CPEng), or the ability to achieve within 6 months of commencing, is desirable* Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor experience is highly regarded.* Extensive experience (10+ years) leading engineering teams in infrastructure/transmission projects.* Ideally, 5+ years of fieldwork, supporting hands-on engineering and site collaboration.* Experience with standards like IEC, IEEE, AS/NZS and a strong safety-first mindset.**What We Offer:**ACCIONA offers the opportunity to lead complex transmission design programs within a global engineering environment.
