About The Role
The Youth Worker plays a key role in supporting and leading effective learning and teaching programs for students in both middle and senior phases of secondary education. This includes contributing to the development and implementation of the school's strategic and operational plans regarding the youth worker role.
* Effective learning and teaching programs for students in both middle and senior phases of secondary education.
* Physical health and emotional wellbeing of the students.
* Development and implementation of the schools strategic and operational plans regarding the function of the youth worker role.
* Maintenance of a supportive and inclusive school environment.
* Relationships with the school, staff, students and their families, industry, and community organisations.
The Youth Worker will also be responsible for engaging students with relevant external agencies through appropriate referral pathways and stakeholder meetings.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Working with Children Clearance Notice.
* A current driver's licence or Light Rigid licence.
* Previous experience in the youth sector with knowledge and understanding of local communities.
It would be highly desirable if you had:
* Understanding of and commitment to principles of social justice.
* Understanding of current youth work practice, trends and issues in service provision to marginalised young people.
* Skill in computing and the ability to develop database skills.
* Proven ability to work autonomously and in an integrated manner as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
