Senior Project Engineer – CGC Recruitment
Our client is leading an indigenous owned civil contracting business operating across sectors in Western Australia. They are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead a $15M Defence Infrastructure Project – From Design to Execution. This role oversees complex civil works from design through on-site construction, initially based north of the river for planning and design, transitioning to a 2:1 FIFO roster for construction, managing trenching, drainage, earthworks, pipelines, and underground services installation.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate engineering activities during the design phase from our metro-based office
* Develop and manage project schedules, cost estimations, and risk assessments
* Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, and contract administration
* Manage site operations during the construction phase on a FIFO 2:1 roster
* Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards
* Manage logistics, resources, and project deliverables to meet timelines and budgets
* Prepare technical reports, project updates, and stakeholder communications
* Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure project success
About You / Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
* Minimum 4 years’ experience in civil infrastructure or construction
* Strong organisational and project management skills
* Proven experience with planning, scheduling, and programming
* Experience managing civil works such as trenching, pipelines, and underground services
* Strong background in procurement, subcontractor management, and contract administration
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
* Familiar with Defence project requirements (desirable)
* Able to work from a metro office during design and on-site with FIFO 2:1 during construction
