The Drive for Life program primarily supports young people aged between 16-25 and is designed to meet the needs of young people who may find it difficult to achieve their driver's licence. Drive for Life believes all young people should have the opportunity to achieve their goals and reach their full potential. Having a driver's licence is a key milestone in a young person's life and helps them move towards independence.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Drive For Life L2P Youth Engagement Worker to coordinate the delivery of the Drive for Life L2P Program.
Reporting to the Manager, this is a permanent, part-time (22.8 hours per week) position based in Leongatha, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 4.
You will successfully- Screen applicant learner drivers.- Organise driving instructor lessons.- Build the capacity of the program through volunteer recruitment.- Liaise with partner agencies to support young people to obtain their drivers licence.
You will have- Tertiary qualifications and /or significant demonstrated equivalent relevant experience in Youth Work, Community Development, Community Services, Social Work, Project Management, Volunteer Management.- A current Victoria Driver Licence.- A current Victoria Employee Working With Children Check.- Proficiency with MS Office suite especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.- A sound degree of judgement, initiative, confidentiality, and sensitivity.- Excellent organisational skills, including attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.- A strong team focus with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and build relationships with people of all backgrounds.- Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and religions (eg. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background, CALD background, LGBTIQA+ community, etc).- Experience working in collaboration with other organisations.- Excellent time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple activities and meet deadlines.- An understanding of Child Safety Standards and what is expected of Child Safe Organisations.- Knowledge of work health safety obligations and how to practice these in a workplace environment.
