Lead Livestock Manager
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Livestock Manager to oversee the care of livestock, assist with crop management, and ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
* This is a leadership role that requires strong communication and teamwork skills.
* The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in farming, a strong commitment to safety and environmental standards, and be able to provide a dynamic work environment.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the care of livestock, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health;
* Assist with crop management, including planting, harvesting, and maintenance;
* Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, including regular inspections and training for staff;
* Collaborate with other farm managers to achieve overall farm goals and objectives;
* Provide coaching and guidance to junior staff members to help them develop their skills and knowledge;
* Develop and implement strategies to improve farm efficiency and productivity;
* Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including animal health, crop yields, and equipment maintenance;
* Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and professional development;
Requirements:
Education: A bachelor's degree in agriculture, animal science, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in farming, preferably in a leadership role.
Skillset: Strong communication and teamwork skills, ability to motivate and lead a team, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, basic computer skills, knowledge of farm management software, experience with animal health and crop management, knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
Personal Qualities: Positive attitude, ability to work under pressure, strong work ethic, flexibility and adaptability, willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
