Role Description
This is a full-time, Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer role based in Melbourne, VIC, with the flexibility to work from home part of the week. We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator / Infrastructure Engineer with strong hands‐on capability across on‐premises environments, data centre operations, and complex migration programs. This role is critical to an upcoming transformation initiative involving a shift from Dell VxRail (Dell hardware + VMware) to a Dell VPC / Hyper‐V–based virtualisation environment.
Key Requirements
* VxRail and Dell VPC with Hyper‐V experience (critical)
* You must have practical experience administering VxRail clusters and working with Dell VPC infrastructure, including planning or executing migrations to Hyper‐V.
* Migration from VMware to Hyper‐V
* Demonstrated capability in transitioning workloads from VMware‐based platforms to Microsoft Hyper‐V, including assessment, planning, cutover, rollback, and validation processes.
* On‐premises and data centre experience
* Strong background in physical and virtual server environments, rack/stack, networking fundamentals, storage, and operational support within data centre facilities.
* Server administration & patch management
* Proven experience managing Windows Server environments, applying security patches, maintaining compliance baselines, and ensuring operational stability.
* General Infrastructure Skills
* Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper‐V)
* Storage and compute (Dell hardware preferred)
* Backup and recovery operations
* Monitoring, performance tuning, and incident response
