About the Opportunity
The Senior Investigation and Compliance Officer is responsible for providing guidance, supervision, mentoring, and support to rangers in their job requirements relating to investigation work. The role is operational, undertakes complex investigations, complaints management, review of contested infringement notices, and contributes to the delivery of enforcing Council By-Laws and other relevant legislation within the municipality.
The Senior Investigation and Compliance Officer will provide high level investigation and complaints management service provision to Regulatory Services.
Services that contribute to the delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan including:
Investigation management
Complaints management
Community education and engagement activities
Stakeholder relationships
Supervision of Rangers in compliance enforcement
About You
We are looking for a person with the following:
Proven experience of working in a regulatory or law enforcement background.
Possess experience in negotiation and mediation with people and external stakeholders in high conflict situations.
Demonstrated experience in interpretation and applying legislation and regulations.
Demonstrated experience in undertaking complex investigations and making recommendations to senior management.
Proven ability to competently manage difficult situations and people.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service skills.
Sound administrative skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Proven ability in preparing prosecution briefs for court.
Hold a Senior First Aid Certificate and OCHRE card or be able to obtain upon commencement.
Hold a Diploma in Government Investigations or a similar qualification or has the ability to obtain.
