Ausgrid is seeking a Pricing Operations Lead to manage their pricing models, calculate prices for large network users, and contribute to regulatory submissions.
Job Description
The successful candidate will have a strong mix of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and stakeholder engagement skills. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and updating Ausgrid's network pricing models
- Calculating network prices for residential, small businesses, and large users
- Analysing tariff strategies and customer impacts
- Managing annual billing system updates
- Leading the implementation of tariffs into internal systems
- Responding to pricing enquiries from internal teams and large customers
- Preparing internal and external presentations on network pricing
- Liaising with asset planners to gather data inputs for regulatory purposes
- Ensuring compliance with the National Electricity Law, National Electricity Rules, and Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) guidelines
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, mathematics, economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Extensive experience in network pricing policy and operations
- Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, influence outcomes, and build strong relationships
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, including the ability to simplify complex analyses for senior stakeholders
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders while building effective relationships across multiple teams
- Proficiency in Python for modelling and data analysis is highly desirable
- Knowledge of the regulatory framework affecting regulated pricing in the electricity distribution industry and/or broader energy sector would be desirable
