We are partnered with a Local Government organisation in Brisbane to recruit a Business Improvement Officer for a contract through to 30th June 2026, with the potential for extension.
Your new role
In this role, you will support the continuous operational improvement of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) and help drive the advancement of systems and business processes across the organisation. During this assignment, you will be responsible for:
* Supporting the design and delivery of business improvement projects
* Analysing data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
* Promoting and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
* Preparing reports and documentation for governance committees
* Engaging stakeholders and building collaborative relationships
* Ensuring effective communication and documentation practices
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
* Experience delivering business process improvement outcomes in a team environment
* Awareness of project, program, and portfolio management principles
* Experience in a public sector setting, ideally within local government (highly regarded)
* Strong time management and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
* Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Business, Project Management, Engineering, Human Services)
* Certifications in change management or agile methodologies (e.g. PROSCI, Agile Fundamentals, ITIL)
* Membership or eligibility for membership with a relevant industry body (e.g. PMI)
* A current "C" class driver's licence
