Eaton is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our PDSS team in Sydney and shape the future of energy solutions across Australia and New Zealand.


Key Responsibilities

* Drive Innovation
* Identify emerging technologies and industry trends, positioning Eaton as a market leader.
* Implement a digital-first approach to streamline processes, boost productivity, and enhance customer experiences.
* Represent Eaton on Standards Australia committees and influence industry regulations through the Australian Industry Group.
* Maintain certification compliance (NER, RPEQ, RPEV) and uphold Eaton's reputation for technical excellence.


Elevate Customer Success

* Build Strategic Relationships
* Foster key technical partnerships with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders to align solutions with their needs.
* Lead high-impact proposal reviews and presentations, ensuring technical accuracy and commercial viability.
* Resolve complex challenges by guiding the team during critical customer engagements.


Foster Collaboration & Excellence

* Promote Cross-Functional Synergy
* Partner with Sales, Product Management, and Project Management teams to deliver seamless end-to-end customer experiences.
* Align engineering outcomes with business objectives through cross-functional collaboration.


Build a High-Performing Team

* Mentor and Develop Engineers
* Attract, develop, and retain top talent, creating a pipeline of diverse technical experts.
* Mentor engineers to achieve career goals while driving accountability for project timelines, design quality, and documentation.
* Cultivate a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and adherence to Eaton's values.


Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
* Minimum 12 years of experience in power systems.
* Deep knowledge of HV switchgear, transformers, capacitor banks, and voltage regulators.
* Bid mastery: Experience signing off on technical proposals and launching new products.
* Consultative leadership skills: Build trust with stakeholders through value-driven conversations.
* Business acumen: Balance technical and commercial goals to drive growth.
* Effective communication: Simplify complex ideas for engineers, clients, and executives.
* Negotiation and relationship-building skills: Navigate enterprise clients, government agencies, and regulatory bodies with ease.


Bonus Points

* Postgraduate degree in engineering management or MBA.
* Active contribution to industry committees (e.g., Standards Australia, AiG forums).
