The company has delivered over 1,400 house and land packages, with directors holding more than 35 years of combined experience in the property, finance, and construction sectors. Currently experiencing a growth phase, they have a newly created position to work under one of the company's subsidiaries.
The Role
Responsibilities
If you have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Assistant Accountant, keep reading! Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets.
* Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payments.
* Monitor and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
* Preparation of monthly BAS returns for review.
* Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
* Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and tax requirements.
* Ensure the fixed asset register and prepayments register are reconciled and balance with the general ledger.
* Support the finance team in ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will have recently obtained tertiary qualifications in an accounting or business degree. You will have professional experience as well as basic knowledge of accounting standards. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, initiative, and attention to detail.
* Minimum 2 years as an Assistant Accountant.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient with Excel.
* Experience with debits and credits.
* Prior experience in property or construction is ideal but not essential.
* Studying or planning to study CPA program.
