This includes monitoring the process through control panels, troubleshooting issues, ensuring system efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a urea granulation fertilizer plant, demonstrating a strong understanding of plant operations, equipment, and safety protocols.
Excellent communication and coordination skills are required.Job responsibilities:Operate and monitor the urea and granulation plant control panel, ensuring safe and efficient machinery operation.Maintain optimal process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rates) for consistent product quality.Adjust control settings and equipment to meet production goals and minimize waste.Process Monitoring:Continuously monitor and assess the operation of urea synthesis, granulation, ammonia storage, and solid handling units.Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to plant performance, including yield, quality, and efficiency.Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues such as system malfunctions, product inconsistencies, and process deviations.Troubleshooting and Maintenance:Assist with troubleshooting and maintenance of panel-controlled equipment, including pumps, conveyors, reactors, and cooling systems.Coordinate with field operators to ensure safe and efficient operation.Work with maintenance teams to address mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues.Safety and Compliance:Adhere to safety procedures and regulations, handling chemicals, high-pressure systems, and hazardous materials safely.Participate in safety drills, audits, and investigations.Maintain environmental compliance, including emissions control and waste disposal.Willingness to participate in the Site Response Team (SRT).Reporting and Documentation:Record and report daily operational data, including production rates and issues.Complete shift logs, incident reports, and other documentation.Provide detailed shift handover reports for operational continuity.Requirements:Education: Technical certifications or Degree/Diploma in Chemical or Process Engineering, or related fields.
Familiarity with Snamprogetti urea process and Thyssenkrupp granulation is a plus.Experience: Minimum of 10 years as a panel operator in urea synthesis and granulation.Skills:Strong knowledge of urea synthesis, granulation, and fertilizer production processes.Proficiency with control panels and process monitoring systems.Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues.Attention to detail and data interpretation skills.Excellent communication and coordination skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.Willing to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Exposure to hazardous plant safety standards.About Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers:Based in Western Australia, Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers is developing Project Ceres, Australia's largest urea plant with a USD $4.5 billion investment and a capacity of 2.3 million metric tons per year.
Located in Karratha, the plant will use feedstock from Woodside under a 20-year supply agreement and has a 20-year offtake agreement with Incitec Pivot.
Urea is a safe, non-toxic fertilizer vital for global agriculture.
