12 month contract Canberra only Baseline clearance required Lead Cybersecurity Strategy Implementation program We are currently seeking an experienced Cyber Security Manager to join a federal government agency to support the delivery of the Cyber Security Strategy Implementation Program, helping to ensure the organisation is resilient against evolving cyber threats and compliant with government frameworks.
You will lead cybersecurity governance, risk, and assurance activities, drive policy uplift, and collaborate across ICT and business units to strengthen the organisation's cybersecurity posture.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Lead and deliver the Cyber Security Strategy Implementation Program, including policy uplift and Essential Eight maturity improvements.
Develop certification and accreditation documentation, leading to Authority to Operate (ATO).
Collaborate with stakeholders and architects to embed security requirements into projects and documentation.
Provide leadership and mentorship within the cyber team to enhance capability and awareness.
Work closely with the Project Manager under the guidance of ITSA to deliver program objectives.
Optimise resources to manage risk and improve security performance.
Skills and Experience Required Demonstrated experience in a cybersecurity leadership role with strong knowledge of PSPF and ISM.
Expertise in creating security documentation and conducting Essential Eight-compliant assessments.
Demonstrated experience leading cyber teams and implementing government-aligned controls.
Skilled in threat modelling, risk assessment, and continuous monitoring.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills across executive and technical audiences.
Critical thinking with a principles-based approach to emerging threats.
