This role is based in Orange and can be part-time (minimum three days) or full-time. You choose.

About the Role
This is more than a technical tax role.
You'll be a trusted senior voice within the business, supporting clients, working closely with team members, and contributing to higher-level thinking around tax, compliance, and GST outcomes.
Importantly, you'll also have the opportunity to
play a role in the long-term development of our tax services
, in line with the vision for the future of My Business Keeper. This may include refining offerings, improving systems, and helping shape how tax integrates with our broader bookkeeping and advisory services.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
* Preparing and reviewing income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, trusts, and SMSFs (where applicable)
* Providing practical, considered tax advice to small business clients
* Completing higher-level bookkeeping work
* Advising on GST treatment, BAS accuracy, and compliance matters
* Supporting and educating our bookkeeping team so they better understand the tax and GST implications of the decisions they make
* Assisting with ATO correspondence, reviews, and compliance matters
* Contributing ideas, structure, and input into the continued growth of our tax arm

What You'll Bring
* Registration as a Tax Agent with the TPB
, or demonstrable progress toward registration
* Relevant qualifications such as a Bachelor of Accounting, Business, Commerce, or equivalent
* Completion (or near completion) of TPB-approved tax law and commercial law units
* Strong knowledge of Australian taxation law and GST
* Experience working with small business clients
* Confidence reviewing work and providing clear, constructive guidance
* The ability to communicate calmly, clearly, and without ego
* A sense of humour also works beautifully here
