The Role
Join our dedicated team as a Kindergarten Assistant to support the Lunch Covers in our Early Childhood Centre. In this vital role, you will provide essential support, helping to contribute to the nurturing and development of our young children. This is a term-time only, contract position for the remainder of the 2026 academic year, commencing as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the creation of a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for kindergarten children Previous experience working in an early childhood education setting
* Assist in delivering play-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and development
* Provide attentive supervision and meaningful engagement with children, including during lunch and rest times
* Work closely with the teacher and team to foster a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
* Help maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming kindergarten space that supports children’s learning and wellbeing
* Assist with routine tasks and basic administrative duties as required

About You
* Availability to work across Monday to Friday between 10.00 am – 2.00 pm
* Previous experience working in an early childhood education setting
* Completed or working towards an ACECQA approved qualification (E.g. Diploma of Early Childhood Education)
* Understanding of and commitment to following early childhood care and education regulations and standards
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with young children
* Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and contribute to a positive team environment
All positions at Peninsula Grammar require:
* Current Working with Children Check & Police Check (or willingness to apply)
* First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Management, CPR Training - Current or willing to complete
* Mandatory Child Safety training – provided by the school upon commencement

Please note: This is a term-time only position. While you will not be required to work during school holidays, your salary will be averaged and paid evenly throughout the year to ensure consistent payments following our pay cycle.
