The OpportunityISS is searching for an experienced and talented Head Chef to lead a high-performing, fast paced and dynamic kitchen operation in our Mining Villages in Central Queensland.
This rare opportunity to be leading the kitchen brigade is on a 9 days on / 5 days off roster, or 2 weeks on /1 week off, giving you the balance to enjoy more of life outside of work.Reporting to the Village Manager, showcase your culinary skills in a energetic remote mining environment while providing leadership to the catering team, ensuring high-quality meals and positive on-site dining experience for residents.ResponsibilitiesLead and inspire a dedicated kitchen team.Oversee meal preparation, presentation, and service for a high-volume siteMaintain excellent compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety, and hygiene standards.Manage and improve ordering, stock levels, and kitchen costs within budget.Collaborate with the Site Manager on tailored menu planning and customer experience improvements.Mentor and train kitchen staff to maintain exceptional standards.Lead with Impact: Live our HERO values by leading with honesty, taking responsibility for exceptional kitchen and dining standards, and inspiring your team to deliver quality meals every day.To be consideredProven professional work experience as a head chef for a minimum of 3 years.FIFO Experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment.
(DISERABLE)Strong leadership and good communication skillsCreativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or higher certification).
