Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking a Maintenance Officer to join our Urban Services team!
* Permanent full time - 35 hours per week
* Rostered day off every fortnight - an extra 22 days off a year!
* Weekly pay cycle
* Salary range $1166.20 - $1399.42 per week
ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful applicant will be required to perform routine maintenance on Council-owned buildings, which include residential spaces at Cooee Lodge Aged Care Facility, Jack Towney Hostel, and Orana Living. Additionally, the Maintenance Officer will handle general maintenance tasks at the Waste Facility, oversee essential new construction projects, and offer operational assistance to Infrastructure Services, Ranger Services, and other Council divisions as required.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023.

ABOUT YOU
Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications:
* Current driver licence
* Trade qualifications (Carpentry) or relevant building construction qualifications (Certificate III)
* Minimum 2 years relevant experience
* Ability to operate and maintain small plant items
* Sound verbal and written communication skills
* Sound literacy & numeracy skills
* Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
* Empathy towards people with disabilities and the elderly
* Demonstrated ability to complete tasks unsupervised
* National Police Certificate
* Possession of WorkCover WH&S Construction Induction Training (White Card)
* Front-end Loader/Backhoe (LB)
* Bonded Asbestos Handling qualifications
* Ability to handle dogs and cats
* Ability to handle livestock
* Track Loader certification
