About us:
Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility and is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland, now providing integrated cancer care services in Central Queensland in the newly established building boasting state of the art medical equipment. The other primary hospitals within the health service are Gladstone, Emerald, Yeppoon and Biloela together with many smaller rural units transfer patients through to Rockhampton for specialist care and investigation.
Specialist Medical Services offered at the Rockhampton Hospital include Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics.
About the role:
Provide transcripts of medical dictations in a timely, accurate, efficient and confidential manner.
Promote a working environment that is conducive to high motivation, productivity and standards of professionalism and commitment to client service.
Operate at a high level of autonomy whilst producing and delivering the dictated medical transcripts.
Provide ethical decision making and exercise judgement to co-ordinate and finalise work within the required time frame.
Communicate with staff at all times and provide transcripts of medical dictations in a timely, accurate, efficient and confidential manner in preparation for medical officer's signature.
About you:
While not mandatory, transcription skills and medical terminology course is preferable.
Ability to type 75 words per minute with 98% accuracy, is preferable.
Proven high level proficiency in Typing, IT programs and in the use of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Ability to work autonomously, gather required patient information, preparation of reports and documents.
Well-developed initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and to resolve problems.
Ability to establish work priorities and meet deadlines when work priorities conflict.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $90,526 p.a. is comprised of:
An hourly rate between $39.98 – $44.46 p.h.
