Director of Operations
Our client is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of their Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets. This role will oversee site teams and contractors, manage performance, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement across operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead day‑to‑day asset operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable performance.
* Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, contractor management, and OEM relationships.
* Monitor KPIs (HSE, generation, availability, compliance) and provide regular performance reporting.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory, and corporate standards, supporting audits and inspections.
* Champion a strong safety culture, leading incident response, investigations, and corrective actions.
* Maintain positive relationships with landowners, community stakeholders, and cultural heritage groups.
* Provide leadership, coaching, and support to site operations teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
* Manage O&M budgets, resource planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
* Proven experience in operations management within the renewable energy or power generation sector (Solar/BESS desirable).
* Strong knowledge of asset management, maintenance planning, and HSE compliance.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
* Excellent problem‑solving, reporting, and communication skills.
* Manage across a variety of utility‑scale renewable assets.
* Leading renewables company with a strong presence across APAC.
* Sydney based role.
