About The Job
This position works alongside children, young people, adults, families, and communities to deliver early intervention and prevention strategies that keep families strong and together.
Key Responsibilities
* The Family Support Coordinator will ensure that the Family Support Service is delivered with quality and integrity in accordance with our Integrated Approach.
* They will be responsible for the administration and facilitation of the Family Support Service, including staff management and collaboration with other teams.
About You
We are looking for a First Nations person who has experience and/or a relevant qualification in social work, community development, and social science.
You will have experience working with First Nations Communities and understand the effects of colonization and disempowerment. You should also be able to implement strength-based and trauma-informed approaches.
We want someone who brings compassion to their leadership style and has experience guiding and supporting a team of skilled professionals.
You should be passionate about social justice and improving outcomes for First Nations Communities, as well as being a self-starter who thinks systematically and thrives in an environment that is ambiguous and complex.
Essential Selection Criteria
* Relevant qualifications and/or minimum of three years' experience in social work, community development, and social science.
* Experience working with First Nations town communities and understanding how colonization, disempowerment, and intergenerational trauma affect First Nations people.
* Strong understanding and implementation of strength-based and trauma-informed approaches.
* Experience in case management.
* Experience leading and supporting a team.
* Excellent communication and community engagement skills.
* Knowledge of child protection issues and the NT child protection system, with experience supporting people experiencing family and domestic violence.
* Current Driver's Licence.
* Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and obtain an NT OCHRE Working with Children Check.
