Wodonga Senior Secondary College is a government year 10 to 12 co-education school located 1km from central Wodonga on 7.84 hectares surrounded by residential housing.
The College is situated in one of Victoria's fastest growing regional cities, with a population of 39,351, and is 3 hours and 20 minutes from Melbourne on the Hume Highway.
Families can access social services, health, employment, art and culture, and can commute to Albury (7.8 km) for work and leisure.
Employment opportunities for parents and carers centre on manufacturing, health care, social assistance, public administration, safety and retail.
Wodonga Senior Secondary College offers high-quality facilities that meet the needs of students and the wider community.
The main building houses science, digital literacy, mathematics, literature, history and language teaching spaces, as well as industry standard facilities for trades, children's services, hair and beauty, hospitality, sports and performing arts.
History and Enrolment Trends
Established in ********* through the regeneration of government secondary education, the College was formed by bringing together three existing secondary schools to create a senior secondary college (years *****) and a middle years college (years 7-9).
Today, Wodonga Senior Secondary College and Wodonga Middle Years College collaborate to provide all students with opportunities for success from Year 7 to career.
Student and Community Demographics
The College currently enrols 1,172 students.
Over the last five years, enrolment trends have increased.
The majority of students transition from Year 9 at Wodonga Middle Years College to Year 10 at the Senior College.
About 24 % of students are drawn from neighbouring communities (including New South Wales), independent schools and Catholic colleges.
The community is socially, economically and culturally diverse; 3.1 % of students have an additional language and 15.9 % identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
Staffing and Leadership Profiles
80 % of teaching staff are highly experienced teachers.
The Executive Team consists of five principals and 17 senior teachers, supported by 56 education support staff including laboratory technicians, librarians, administrative staff, maintenance and IT assistants.
The College supports student wellbeing through house leaders, a wellbeing team of social workers, doctors, a Koorie support mentor, inclusion support and a Defence transition mentor.
Curriculum and Specialisation
The College offers the broadest range of subject choices in the region.
VCE and VCAL span two and a half years at the College and are well represented by students.
In partnership with registered training organisations, the College delivers a diverse range of VET subjects and boasts a strong reputation for high-quality instruction and industry placements.
Global education programs and international study tours enhance students' cultural exposure.
Extra-curricular activities include swimming, athletics, inter-school sport, instrumental music, college musical productions and celebrity events.
Selection Criteria
SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills.

SC2 Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by student learning styles, and evaluating the impact of teaching programs on student growth.
SC3 Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning.
Demonstrated use of data to inform teaching practice and provide feedback to students and parents.
SC4 Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support student learning, agency, wellbeing and engagement.
SC5 Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values.
Demonstrated experience in reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning to continually improve teaching quality.
Role
The classroom teacher is classified across two salary ranges: range 1 and range 2.
The primary focus is on planning, preparing and teaching programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
Teachers engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills, effectively engaging students and enhancing learning.
As teachers gain experience, their contribution to the school beyond the classroom increases.
All teachers may be required to undertake additional duties appropriate to their salary range, qualifications, training and experience.
Responsibilities
Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;
Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school;
Undertaking other classroom-teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;
Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions;
Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
Who May Apply
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach – or with demonstrated experience – in the specified curriculum area(s) for the position.

Qualification Requirements
The person must have provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
If the person completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching programme or course of study on or after 1 January ****, they must demonstrate satisfactory completion of a postgraduate level accredited initial teacher education programme.
If the person graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programme after 1 July ****, they must have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements (satisfied if part of the ITE programme).
